Data Deletion
When you, as a creator, connect a social media account (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or Pinterest) to Small Talk, we store the data associated with that connection. This page explains what that data is and how to have it deleted.
What connection data we store
Once you connect, we store: your OAuth access and refresh tokens (kept encrypted at rest), your platform account id, and cached public metrics such as your follower count. We never store your platform password — the connection is made through the platform's own secure OAuth sign-in.
Immediate deletion: disconnect
Open your profile, select the connected platform, and click Disconnect. This immediately deletes the stored tokens and any cached metrics for that platform and removes the verified badge. Your self-reported presence (the channel you listed) remains until you remove it too.
Delete your account
You can delete your account yourself at any time: Settings → Your data → Delete my account. We'll ask for your password to confirm. This removes all connection data across every connected platform, along with the rest of your profile.
If you've completed a collaboration, we're required to keep the invoices and payment records from it for ten years (Swiss Code of Obligations, Art. 958f). Those records remain, but they are separated from your name and contact details — your profile, personal details and sign-in credentials are deleted.
Download your data
Under Settings → Your data you can download a complete copy of your data as a JSON file at any time.
Deletion by request
You can also request deletion by emailing hello@smltlk.ch. We action these requests within 30 days and will confirm once complete.
Retention
Access and refresh tokens are retained only while a platform remains connected. Cached metrics are refreshed periodically while connected and are purged the moment you disconnect or delete your account.
